Lucy Fry attends 23rd Annual Hamptons International Film Festival

October 11, 2015

Lucy Fry attends ‘The Preppie Connection’ premiere on the 23rd Annual Hamptons International Film Festival. (October 10, 2015) You can see the images below.

What was the casting process like?

I did the casting with S2 Casting. Thomas Mann actually sought out the film and sought me out, and really wanted to be a part of it, which was so exciting. He was so committed to the project, and that means so much to me as a director to have committed cast members. Lucy Fry was the exact same. She sought the project out and we actually met over Skype at first and we just hit it off. The casting was just something that came together beautifully because I met such great people and people I wanted to make the film with. – Joseph Castelo

The first exclusive clip of The Preppie Connection also premiered at Vanity Fair.

Lucy Fry In Shortlist to Star in ‘Robin Hood: Origins’

October 01, 2015

Robin Hood Origins LFS

According to Deadline, Lucy Fry is one of the four actress who are in talks to star in ‘Robin Hood: Origins’. You can read the full press release below.

Deadline has learned that a quartet of up-and-coming actresses from around the world are in the mix for Lionsgate’s Robin Hood: OriginsThe Knick‘s Irish-born Eve Hewson is in the running along with Dutch actress Gaite Jansen(Supernova), Australian thesp Lucy Fry (Vampire Academy) and British actressGugu Mbatha-Raw (Belle). The global approach to casting the female lead opposite Taron Egerton (Kingsman: The Secret Service) underscores the more authentic approach Lionsgate and director Otto Bathurst would like to take with their version of the iconic Sherwood Forest inhabitant.
No offers have been made yet, but the project is a priority for Lionsgate, which declined to comment when contacted by Deadline. Peaky Blinders‘ Bathurst is directing the gritty, revisionist take on the legend. Joby Harold, the scribe who wrote Knights Of The Roundtable: King Arthur with Guy Ritchie directing Charlie Hunnam, has conjured up the origins story that has been likened to The Dark Knight. Here, Robin Hood returns from fighting in The Crusades and finds that Sherwood Forest is rife with corruption and evil. He forms a band of outlaws and they take matters into their own hands. The picture is being produced by Appian Way’s Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson, and Safe House’s Harold and Tory Tunnell and Basil Iwanyk.

There are other Robin Hood projects also set up around town. Disney has the Brandon Barker spec Nottingham & Hood, which is said to be in the vein of Pirates Of The Caribbean and Enchanted. The Picture Company’s Alex Heineman and Andrew Rona are producing. Sony last fall bought a Robin Hood pitch for $1 million from Cory Goodman and Jeremy Lott with Jerry Bruckheimer producing and Aperture’s Adam Goldworm executive producing. That project, Hood, has been described as Fast And Furious meets Mission: Impossible. Warner Bros has also quietly put one of its own Robin Hood projects into development, scripted by Gangster Squad and Aquaman scribe Will Beall and produced by The Lego Movie‘s Dan Lin and John Zaozirny.

With the quartet of projects vying to get to the start post, Lionsgate is doing everything it can to get out of the gates first. It is aiming to start production in the first quarter of 2016. The last time there were rival Robin Hood projects was in 1991, when the Kevin Costner-starrer Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves went against the Patrick Bergin-Uma Thurman Robin Hood and wiped the floor with it despite being released a month later.

A potential scheduling wrinkle: Fox has an option on Egerton to reprise his star-making turn as a secret agent in the sequel to Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman: The Secret Service it wants to start shooting next spring — that still needs to be ironed out.

But this project looks like it’s gathering momentum.

Now Add Honey Australian Release Date & More

April 22, 2015

Now Add Honey’s official instagram announced, the movie will be release on November 5 in Australia while Roadshow Films is set to distribute. Now Add Honey will also make its world premiere at the Bentonville Film Festival in the USA. You can read the full press release below.

The Bogans are heading to America. Now Add Honey, the feature film debut from director Wayne Hope and writer Robyn Butler – the husband and wife team behind ABC TV series The Librarians and Upper Middle Bogan – will have its world premiere at the Bentonville Film Festival in Arkansas in May. OK, it’s not a festival on everyone’s radar, but it clearly has ambitions to be. This is the first year of the festival, co-founded by Geena Davis (the actress and activist who also founded and chairs the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media), with an agenda to promote the commercial potential of films that champion “women and diversity”, both in front of and behind the camera. Now Add Honey would certainly appear to tick those boxes, with Butler also starring as a middle-aged woman whose life falls apart when her movie-star niece (Lucy Fry) comes to stay after her mother (Portia de Rossi) is sent to rehab. Pronouncing herself “thrilled to bits” at being invited to screen at the festival, Butler said: “I wrote this movie to celebrate women and girls and I cannot think of a better place to kick off our movie than in a festival designed to celebrate women and girls. Also, I hear Bentonville has a lot of pie.” The comedy, which also stars Hamish Blake and Angus Sampson, was shot in Melbourne in 2014 and will be distributed locally by Roadshow in November.

Lucy cast In Hulu Series “11/22/63” by Stephen King

April 08, 2015

Deadline announced, Lucy has joined the cast of Hulu Series ’11/22/63′. Its a 2011 novel written by Stephen King. Lucy will play “Marina Oswald, Oswald’s Russian wife — a knockout and challenged to make her way in a foreign country with her unpredictable husband.” You can read the full press release below.

Oscar winner Chris Cooper is among seven actors cast in 11/22/63, Hulu’s adaptation of Stephen King’s 2011 bestseller starring James Franco. Kevin Macdonald, who helmed The Last King Of Scotland and won an Oscar for his feature documentary One Day In September, will direct the first two of the nine-episode event series.

The story centers on Jake Epping (Franco), an unassuming divorced English teacher who stumbles upon a time portal that leads to September 1958 and goes on a quest to prevent the assassination of President Kennedy. But his mission is threatened by Lee Harvey Oswald, his falling in love and the past itself — which doesn’t want to be changed.

The actors join Sarah Gadon, who Deadline told you yesterday was aboard to play Sadie Dunhill, the luminous, sharp librarian in 1960s Jodie, Texas, who falls in love with Jake, unaware of his double life.

Cooper will play Al Templeton, he irascible owner of Al’s Diner, a mentor/friend to Jake. His appeal to save Kennedy sends Jake on his incredible mission. Also joining the cast: Daniel Webber as Oswald, one of the most discussed figures in American history and an enigma even to himself; Cherry Jones as Marguerite Oswald, Oswald’s mother who is as needy and difficult as her infamous son; George MacKay as Bill Turcotte, a young, guileless bartender from 1960s Kentucky who becomes Jake’s ally; Lucy Fry as Marina Oswald, Oswald’s Russian wife — a knockout and challenged to make her way in a foreign country with her unpredictable husband; and Leon Rippy as Harry Dunning, a kind, soft-spoken and damaged janitor at Jake’s school in 2015; his traumatic early life in the 1960s has a surprising impact on Jake.

11/22/63 is from J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions, author King, executive producer/writer Bridget Carpenter and Warner Bros. Television.

Now Add Honey Unofficial Poster #2

February 11, 2015

Lightning Entertainment releases new Now Add Honey unofficial poster featuring Lucy Fry and Portia de Rossi.

SYNOPSIS: Caroline Morgan’s (Robyn Butler) comfortable suburban life is in freefall: her two bickering daughters are driving her mad, she’s being worked to exhaustion by a thankless boss, her husband announces that he’s leaving her for their beautiful young yoga instructor who’s having his baby, and…Now Add Honey!

Caroline’s pill-popping, alcohol-abusing sister Beth (Portia de Rossi), and Beth’s teen-idol pop-star daughter Honey Halloway (Lucy Fry) come in like a hurricane for a surprise visit from Los Angeles, with their airheaded Hollywood entourage in tow. When Beth is sent to rehab, things disintegrate into hilarious chaos as Honey adjusts to suburban life without her stylist, private chef, and personal assistant – while the rest of the family adjusts to having a superstar hogging the bathroom, going wild on shopping sprees, attracting crowds of adoring fans, dodging paparazzi, and breeding chaos wherever she goes!

But right when she’s about to fall apart, Caroline realizes that Honey’s bubbly-blonde charm could be what her troubled family has needed all along. Funny, heartfelt, and sincere, NOW ADD HONEY tells the riotous story of what happens when a normal family gets a taste of not-so-normal celebrity!

Now Add Honey is slated for 2015 release.
